CASE STUDIES
Moving to the Web. This article, written by one of our clients, illustrates the way ACP can help you orient your staff to new technology, prepare a plan of action, and begin developing strategic applications. ACP was materially involved in all phases of this clients project, and continues to be a valued resource on Copelco's team today.

TECHNICAL OVERVIEWS
Turning Data into Information - an overview of MQE and MRE Tools. Do you need a query tool or a reporting tool? This article, written by ACP's founder, Eric Rosenfeld, describes two different approaches to delivering information: Managed Reporting Environments and Managed Query Environments. It describes the benefits of each environment in terms useful to end-users and illustrates some common pitfalls to avoid.

Humpty Dumpty's Secrets of Large Project Management
This paper will be submitted at the International Oracle Users Group (IOUG) conference in Denver this April. It is a discussion, based on our long experience, about our founder's philosphy for large project management. Using the old nursery rhyme as a metaphor, the author discusses the many perils of project management and how to avoid them by building better teams, focusing and mentoring those teams, and using the project tools effectively.

MANAGEMENT ISSUES
Why Do Projects Fail?
IT projects typically suffer about 60-70% failure rates, depending on the study referenced. There are many pundits that lay the blame for this at the feet of Engineers, or perhaps the lack of "engineering" that actually goes into the process of software development these days. This paper looks at the problem from a more typical, business-like mindset. The article lists reasons and possible work-arounds to avoid project catastrophies.
